Spring 2025 rehearsals start on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Please join us!
We are so grateful to have the support of those who believe in what we do to provide choral performances and bring musical joy to the community of Salina, Kansas. And we invite the public to join us in doing what we so love doing – singing and sharing the joys of ensemble music.
We were honored and thrilled to present two spring 2024 performances, the last final ones under the direction of our now retired director Bill Tuzicka. Once again, our audience for these concerts were very receptive and their wonderful applause made all our weeks of work in rehearsal worth the time and effort we put in.
On Monday evening, March 4, 2024, at the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Salina, KS, we presented two pieces from our upcoming spring concert to open the Salina Choral Festival. This concert was hosted by Kansas Wesleyan University and presented two pieces each from choral groups of area high schools, with a mass choir finale under the direction of David Corman, Director of Vocal Music at KWU.
And on Sunday, April 21, 2024, also at the Stiefel Theatre, we presented our spring concert, called "Songs of Praise & Remembrance," with a program of 13 choral pieces whittled down from the 40 or 50 favorites considered by Bill Tuzicka. Of course, he said he had to include the Kansas State Song, "Home on the Range," as he doubted he would be allowed to direct the piece in Iowa, where he and his wife Susan are moving, should he be doing choral directing there.
Our "Carols of Christmas" concert, our annual holiday tradition -- which we presented on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at 6pm under the direction of Keri Boleyv -- was very well received by our appreciative audience. Our presentation of Vivaldi's "Gloria" with small orchestra, piano and organ, plus other new and old holiday choral treasures, made a great ending to Thanksgiving Weekend and a wonderful start to the holiday season. Already, our new director, Keri Boley, has selected pieces for this concert, and we are excited to rehearse them for this holiday treat.
Our next Salina Chorale concert will be the 2025 spring presentation in the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Salina, KS, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 4 p.m.
As always, your support and enthusiasm and applause means a lot to us. It blesses all of us to be able to share our music with you and your family and friends.
Ticket sales for our concerts, and membership dues from our members, cover only part of the Chorale’s annual expenses for the music, rehearsal space, honorariums, tickets and programs printing costs and publicity.
We rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to assist us in making up the difference. Your sponsorship, of any size, directly supports the costs of our music and our twice-per-year performances, while also underwriting the Chorale’s mission of perpetuating the art of ensemble singing and giving you exposure as a Salina Chorale sponsor.
Of course, gifts made to "Salina Chorale" are always welcome. We thank you for your support.
PLEASE SEE THE SPONSORSHIP PAGE FOR YOUR OPTIONS.
