Spring 2025 rehearsals start on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Please join us!
Dear Friend of the Arts,
We appreciate everyone who joined us for our 2024 spring concert on April 21, 2024, was a wonderful final send-off for our director Bill Tuzika, who then retired from his role as music director of the Salina Chorale. And we are also grateful for all those who came to enjoy our choral performance for the 2024 "Carols of Christmas" concert on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, under the direction of our new music director, Keri Boley.
Thank you for your enthusiastic response to our singing for these two concerts of the 2024 season. To all our chorale members, and those who make up our audiences, there is nothing quite like the joy of making, or listening to, choral music that soars and lifts spirits.
Our many individual singers create the incredible soaring sounds of voices coming together, as we sing our mixture of songs with as many as 8 different vocal parts.
Many of you have accepted and acted upon the heartfelt invitation we give to our audiences at every concert to come join us in singing.
And many others of you have faithfully attended our concerts here in Salina, Kansas. By doing so, you have been our treasured supporters over the years. Thank you for your faithful support. Your enthusiastic response to our singing makes our weeks of preparation worth the time and effort we put into preparing to sing for you.
In 2024, the Salina Chorale participated in the second annual Salina Choral Festival, sponsored by Kansas Wesleyan University, was presented at 7pm Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts. The concert featured two pieces performed by each of the student choirs from area high schools, plus a mass choir of all of the high school choruses sang two pieces under the direction of David Corman, director of vocal music for Kansas Wesleyan University. And an additional two pieces was presented by the Salina Chorale. Admission in the past has been $5 per person.
SALINA CHORALE UPCOMING PERFORMANCES ***
Our next Salina Chorale concert will be our Spring 2025 concert, which we will present in the Stiefel Theatre of the Arts on Sunday, March 23, 2024, at 4 p.m., under the leadership of our new music director, Keri Boley. It's an earlier performance date than we typically have had in the past for our spring concert, but this date accommodates the busy schedules of the Stiefel Theatre and of our director, who is in charge of the choral program at Southeast of Saline Jr. and Sr. High School in Gypsum, Kansas.
Later in 2025, we will present our next "Carols of Christmas" concert at Sacred Heart Cathedral. And in December 2025, we will again serve as members of the Symphony chorus for their mid-December Christmas Festival concert on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
# # # OUR PAST PERFORMANCES
The spring concert has been traditionally held at Salina's Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Salina, Kansas, when the theater schedule allows, but on occasion is performed at a local church. Watch this webpage, below, for details.
In fall 2017, Sacred Heart Cathedral in downtown Salina welcomed the Salina Chorale and agreed to be the venue for our annual "Carols of Christmas" concert, and graciously has provided a delicious cookie reception for everyone in attendance. They did this for three holiday concerts in a row (2017, 2018, 2019).
We then took off two years and did not perform in 2020 and 2021. The fourth "Carols of Christmas" concert, was originally scheduled in December 18, 2022, but was delayed a month after our beloved director Bill Tuzicka tested positive for Covid. Sacred Heart Cathedral agreed to have us perform our "Carols of Christmas" concert on January 15, 2023.
Our fifth "Carols of Christmas" concert to be presented in Sacred Heart Cathedral was a wonderful success on Dec. 17, 2023. Once more we enjoyed performing for a large and enthusiastic audience (our thanks to everyone who was there to support us), just like the ones of past years.
Your appreciation and applause makes it a joy for us to sing in this high ceiling Sacred Heart Cathedral with the live echo sound much like that of large European cathedrals.
In addition, the Salina Chorale forms a backbone of the Salina Symphony chorus, in past years being joined by the Kansas Wesleyan University Philharmonic Choir, for a variety of concert events.

Often performed in various churches, the venue for our 2024 Salina Chorale spring concert on April 21, 2024, was the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Salina, Kansas.
