UPDATED: FEBRUARY 15, 2025
Dear Friends of the Salina Chorale,
We invite you to join us for our 2025 Spring Concert, "Water and Life," with all pieces chosen and conducted by our talented director, Keri Boley. (Learn about our director and her choral direction experience on the “Director, Accompanist” page, under the “MORE” tab.)
The performance will be held at the Stiefel Theater for the Performing Arts at 4pm Sunday, March 23rd, 2025,
The first half of the concert will explore the many properties of "Water" through a diverse mix of music, including pop, folk, show tunes, spirituals, novelty songs, nostalgic pieces and more serious choral pieces.
Featured are arrangements of The River by Garth Brooks, Moon River by Henry Mancini, and other beloved songs like I Love a Rainy Night. The Chorale will also perform the thought-provoking Emily Dickinson poem The Moon is Distant From the Sea, a spiritual titled The Storm is Passing Over, and… a pirate song!
The second half of our concert will center around “LIFE.” Our director, Keri Boley, shares that all of the songs selected for this section hold special memories for her of her mom, who passed away unexpectedly last May. She explains, “These pieces are inspired by my mother’s love of life and her joy in living.”
Included will be In My Life by the Beatles, Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes), Teach Your Children Well, The Rose, and several songs with melodies and texts that touch the heart, including You Are My Sunshine, I’ll Fly Away, and a particularly meaningful piece, To Where You Are.
We are thrilled to present this concert and invite you, along with your family and friends, to join us for this wonderful spring performance – our second concert presented under the direction of Keti Boley. We are confident that some of the songs will bring back warm memories, while others will create moments that touch your heart.
