We are making good progress on our music Monday evenings! - SING WITH US!

Before our Monday evening rehearsals, the members of our volunteer Salina Chorale Board meet together with President BJ Banks and Director Keri Boley. Their meetings address a variety of business items, including our new partnership with Greater Salina Community Foundation.
The Greater Salina Community Foundation (GSCF) brings together donors, nonprofits and community leaders to improve lives and enrich communities.
SALINA CHORALE BECOMES A GSCF MEMBER
On April 20, 2026, donations from our board members totaling $1,000.00 were submitted to the Greater Salina Community Foundation, allowing the Salina Chorale to become a contributing member of GSCF. Our $1,000.00 contribution to the Community Foundation gave us the opportunity to participate with other contributors in helping those served by the GSCF. The Greater Salina Community Foundation provides approved grants to 501(c)3 organizations that work to positively impact Salina, Kansas, and nearby communities.
$2,500 RESPONSE GRANT FROM GSCF
Through our becoming a contributing member of the Greater Salina Community Foundation, the Salina Chorale was eligible to apply for the GSCF $2,500.00 Response Grant to help us with our mission, as expressed in our mission statement: Salina Chorale Inc. – Inspiring singers and uplifting communities through vocal music.
Our president, B.J. Banks, applied for this GSCF Response Grant, basing our request on the impact and importance of our chorale presentations to the arts efforts in our area, and the benefit to our members who come together to rehearse and perform with other singers.
On May 6, 2026, we received word from the Community Foundation that the Salina Chorale was selected to receive this Response Grant, which has been applied to the expenses (choral and instrumental music, musicians’ fees, honorariums to key individuals for their service to the group, and rehearsal space rental) for our 2026 “Carols of Christmas” concert, scheduled to be performed at 4pm on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2026, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in downtown Salina, KS.
Listed as having contributed funds for the “Responsive Grant” is Dane G. Hanson Foundation. We thank this foundation for helping to make this gift to Salina Chorale possible. Thank you, Greater Salina Community Foundation, for awarding us your Responsive Grant!
